New Release

Cullen Demo 1

The first song I wrote lyrics for, as well as contributing musically. A Wildflowers staple, brought kicking and screaming to the 2020s.

The first song I wrote myself completely, performed a few times live and was definitely the heaviest the Wildflowers got. Still a cracking track, with plenty of improvements along the way.

A re-imagining brought about to my deep-dive into early Helloween. We couldn’t decide which version was better, so we did both, and they individually work so well. Let us know which version is your favourite!

Hey, I’m Cullen, finally getting around to making myself a page on this site!

This is mainly to have a place to put my first demo, which is still a terrifying concept. I don’t know how much I could say this, but releasing music with my vocals for the first time has been the hardest musical thing I’ve ever done. I’m still not happy with the result, but I never will be, and if I never release it, it’ll never happen. So if you like the demos and fancy playing or hearing some metal, drop me a line! I’ve got many many ideas and a few complete songs apart from these, and I’m well underway now to having a band set up.

The demo features me on vocals, bass, drums and rhythm guitar; two firsts for me. The brilliant duo of Josh Curson and Blayze Tate lovingly provides lead guitar and backing vocals. Considering the demo was recorded in around 3 day-sessions with Josh and another 4 with Jordan, it’s actually really cool how good they sound now! These guys have been legends, and this demo wouldn’t have happened without their input.

On another note, if you’re a vocalist, vocal tutor or somesuch, please get in touch and let me know how it sounds. I’ve been practicing with different people for around 5 years, and I’m eager to improve! I just updated the demos from the first iteration from 2023 to the most recent from 2026, and damn, there’s a big difference!

On top of being Technical Director at Yellowbelly Records, I’ve played many instruments for many artists. My first band, The Wildflowers, folded in 2020, and I’ll still never forgive the lockdowns for that. The biggest unfinished chapter in my book, and one of the primary reasons I became obsessed with recording everything! You can hear what we did record in the Spotify link here, it’s good stuff. I also included a solo from Mike O’Hara in Fly Away, cause it didn’t sound right not featuring him. Whether that lasts through to the final version comes down to permissions and everything, but the continuity and nostalgia makes me happy.

I’m currently bassist for the Broken Wonders, drummer for Sacred Starfish and I’ve also provided bass and drums for artists such as Jack Kendrick, Ste Walker, Sunshine Poet, The SoapGirls, Man Made Fate, Kev Hackney, Gaz Clitheroe and many others that I can’t think of at the moment. If you also need any session work, hit me up!

I also put out System Lincs Vol. 1 in 2024, a chiptune album made entirely on the NES that I ended up putting out for free. Check it out if you fancy chippy covers of Lincolnshire music!

I’ve also spent the last near 10 years trying to get a name for this project, but I’ve not found anything at all in that time, despite lots of attempts. Any ideas, do let me know!

I’ll make this page better soon, I’m just so hyped and freaked out that the demo’s come out. There are more tracks lined up and nearly ready to go, if you like these tracks let me know, the positive reinforcement might make me get them out faster than this lot!
